History:
Korb Narless was born in Calipsa, which is the capital of House Calipsa, to Amador and Lamella Narless. Amador Narless worked for the local mining company providing enough to support his family while his mother Lamella worked for a restaurant in the local star port as a waitress. Korb grew up pretty much middle-class with not a whole lot of the luxuries that nobles were accustomed to, but Korb knew that he would be destined for much more than a middle-class lifestyle.
Growing up, Korb became fascinated with the military presence on Calipsa. As soon as he was able to, even against his parents’ wishes, he enlisted in the Calipsa Army. He started out as a Private, but quickly worked his way up to a Sergeant First Class. He exhibited remarkable skill while enlisted with his proficiency in combat and weapon training. He quickly gained notice from the higher-ranking officials for the abilities and accuracy that he displayed.
After serving his time in the Calipsa Army, Korb was given an opportunity to transfer to the House Guards of the Calipsa nobility. At first, Korb did not want to take this opportunity, but after a chance encounter with a lovely young woman named Mira, changed his mind. Korb fell in love with Mira as did she with him. But as fate would have it, these two could not be together due to the fact that Mira was the granddaughter of Lord Weston Warsheld, Lord of the Calipsa House, and she was to be part of an arranged marriage to a young nobleman from House Mecetti. The thought of this did not sit well with Korb.
Korb did whatever he could to see Mira on a daily basis. He took odd assignments and things of that nature when they became available. Mira also did whatever she could to be in the same area that Korb was assigned to. But one day, fate did rear its head in their favor. An opportunity presented itself for a House Guard to become a Training Specialist for all of the young nobles living in the Warsheld house.
Korb was not too excited about the prospect of this new job, but he new that he needed it in order to be closer to Mira. On a rainy day, in the field and lake behind the Warsheld Manor Estate, Korb took one step closer to being closer to his love. He was pitted in a competition with two other House Guards, Frax Reyes and Vole Wren. It was a fierce competition that was an obstacle course that consisted of shooting, running, swimming, and hand-to-hand combat. Korb easily won out in the shooting competition hands down. Frax won the running competition while Vole easily won the swimming competition being that he was a member of the Calipsa Water Rescue Squad. Korb won the hand-to-hand competition thus making him the winner. Korb won out over his two competitors and thus became the new Training Specialist.
After the competition was over with, Korb’s winning did not sit well with Frax at all. Frax vowed that before his life was over with, he would “have the last word” over this situation. Korb and Mira both suspect that Frax knows of the secret love relationship having always been in the areas that the two of them are in to see each other.
Korb did not like this new job, but he did it nevertheless because he knew that it would bring him closer to Mira on a day-to-day basis. He has done the job very well and has been handsomely rewarded for doing so. Korb is now in charge of training the bodyguards, sentries, and other members of the House in the various forms of combat.
Mira has been doing whatever she can in her power to delay the marriage to a noble from House Mecetti because she wants to be with Korb, but they would not dare make their intentions known because it would deeply upset her grandfather and father, Valin Warsheld. To this day, Korb continues his training and love affair with Mira, and they are seeking a way to be together forever without having to hide it.
